Product Overview
The Cohen Manipulator is a specialized cannulated instrument characterized by its spring-loaded sliding acorn and curved distal tip. It is the primary choice for surgeons performing diagnostic laparoscopy, chromopertubation, and tubal patency tests. By allowing the surgeon to “dead-lock” the acorn against the external os, it creates an airtight seal for dye injection while providing the leverage necessary to antevert, retrovert, or laterally displace the uterus.
Key Features
-
“Beast-Seal” Adjustable Acorn: Features a conical, spring-loaded acorn that slides along the shaft. This allows the clinician to apply consistent pressure against the cervix, ensuring a “liquid-smooth” injection of contrast media (such as methylene blue) without leakage.
-
Optimal Distal Curvature: The tip is meticulously angled to follow the natural curvature of the uterine canal. This ensures an atraumatic insertion and provides the mechanical authority to manipulate the uterus into the ideal position for laparoscopic viewing.
-
Integrated Injection Port: Equipped with a standard Luer-lock hub at the proximal end. This allows for the seamless attachment of syringes for chromopertubation, ensuring the “beast” remains stationary while the dye is administered.
-
Adjustable Stabilizing Handle: The handle features a locking mechanism that allows the clinician to set the depth of the tip and the tension of the acorn, accommodating varying uterine sounds and patient anatomies.
-
Surgical-Grade Resilience: Manufactured from premium, hardened stainless steel. It is built to maintain its structural alignment and smooth spring action through thousands of high-heat sterilization cycles.
