Product Overview
The Mixter Artery Forcep is a specialized hemostat characterized by its distinctive right-angle (90-degree) jaw. While standard clamps are straight or gently curved, the Mixter is designed to reach behind and around vessels, ducts, and nerves. It is the gold standard for “blunt dissection” to create a window behind a structure and for passing ligatures (sutures) in deep operative fields where visibility is restricted.
Key Features
-
“Beast-Curve” 90-Degree Jaws: The precisely forged right-angle tips allow for the isolation of vessels that are perpendicular to the surgical approach, such as the cystic artery or deep mesenteric vessels.
-
Full-Length Transverse Serrations: The inner jaw surfaces feature deep horizontal grooves from the pivot to the tip. This ensures a non-slip, atraumatic grip on slippery vascular bundles or connective tissue.
-
Slender Tapered Tips: Despite their robust clamping power, the tips are tapered to a fine profile. This allows for delicate “tunneling” behind structures without causing unnecessary trauma to surrounding tissue.
-
Multi-Step Precision Ratchet: Features a graduated locking mechanism that allows the surgeon to apply calibrated pressure. The lock is engineered to remain secure under tension while offering a smooth, crisp release.
-
High-Tensile Surgical Steel: Manufactured from premium tempered stainless steel to ensure the jaws remain perfectly aligned, preventing “jaw-overlap” even during heavy-duty clamping.
