Product Overview
The Razor Baby Metzenbaum is a specialized dissecting scissor characterized by its diminutive size and Razor-Edge technology. Unlike standard scissors that use two blunt-milled edges to shear, the Razor version features at least one blade honed to a scalpel-like sharpness. This allows for effortless “glide-cutting” through delicate tissues, reducing the manual force required and significantly minimizing tissue “pushing” or trauma.
Key Features
-
“Beast-Sharp” Razor Edge: One blade is precision-honed to a razor-sharp finish, while the opposing blade is standard-milled. This combination creates a “micro-shear” effect that cuts through fine membranes and small vessels with zero resistance.
-
Micro-Pattern Design: With a total length of only 115mm (4.5″), these scissors are perfectly scaled for pediatric, neonatal, and plastic surgery where standard Metzenbaums are too cumbersome.
-
Slender Curved Blades: The blades are forged with a gentle curve and rounded, atraumatic tips. This allows the surgeon to follow the natural contours of delicate structures while performing safe blunt dissection in tight corners.
-
High-Sensitivity Pivot: The box-joint is hand-fitted to ensure a silky-smooth opening and closing motion. The light spring tension provides the surgeon with maximum tactile feedback, essential for working near vital nerves.
-
Gold-Plated / Black-Handled Identification: Often designated by one or two black handles to signify the Super-Cut / Razor edge, making them easily identifiable on the surgical tray.
