Product Overview
While the standard 7.5″ Schnidt is a staple for ENT and general surgery, the 10-inch (254mm) version is a specialized powerhouse for deep cavity work. It maintains the signature slender jaw and half-serrated profile but adds significant shank length. This allow surgeons to reach deep into the pelvic floor, the retroperitoneum, or the thoracic cavity without their hands obstructing the line of sight or the surgical lighting.
Key Features
-
“Beast-Reach” 10″ Extension: The extra-long shanks are designed for procedures where standard clamps fall short. This length is critical for safely reaching vessels at the base of a deep surgical site while keeping the finger rings well outside the incision.
-
Precision Half-Serrated Jaws: The jaws feature fine, transverse serrations on the distal half only. This allows for a pinpoint, non-slip grip on small vessels and ligaments, while the smooth proximal part of the jaw protects surrounding structures from accidental trauma.
-
Ultra-Slender Profile: Forged with a delicate, tapered tip that allows for “fine-tip” dissection and clamping. It is the primary tool for “passing a tie” or isolating a vessel in a crowded operative field.
-
High-Tactile Ratchet System: The multi-step locking mechanism is calibrated to provide a secure hold with a lightweight feel. The surgeon receives immediate tactile feedback, ensuring delicate vessels are occluded without being crushed.
-
Surgical-Grade Balance: Despite its 10″ length, the instrument is perfectly weight-balanced to prevent “tip-heavy” fatigue, allowing for steady, jitter-free manipulation during long, complex cases.
