Product Overview
The Walsham Forceps are specifically designed for the reduction of nasal bone fractures and the straightening of a deviated septum. Unlike standard forceps, the Walsham features one flat, thin blade and one slightly thicker blade (often available in paired sets for left, right, and universal use). This configuration allows the surgeon to place one blade inside the nasal cavity and the other externally (or on the opposite side of the septum) to “clamp” and manipulate the displaced fragments back into their natural position.
Key Features
-
Specialized Blade Geometry: Features long, slender blades with a specific curvature designed to slide deep into the nasal vault to reach the posterior aspect of the septum and nasal bones.
-
“Beast-Leverage” Handle: The heavy-duty, ergonomic handles provide the mechanical advantage necessary to move impacted or fractured bone without the instrument flexing or slipping.
-
Atraumatic Polished Surface: Despite their strength, the blades are hand-finished to a high-buff polish to minimize mucosal trauma and prevent skin lacerations during external manipulation.
-
Paired Configurations: Available in Left, Right, and Universal (Straight) models to ensure the surgeon always has the correct angle for the specific side of the fracture.
-
High-Tensile Surgical Steel: Forged to withstand significant torque, ensuring the instrument remains rigid and reliable during even the most difficult fracture reductions.
