Product Overview
The Desmarres Weighted Nasal Retractor is designed to provide stable, downward traction on the nasal alae or columella. By utilizing gravity through its integrated solid weight, it maintains a wide-open surgical field, allowing the surgeon to operate with both hands free. Its “beast-like” stability ensures that the tension remains uniform throughout the procedure, which is critical for accurate septal and dorsal work.
Key Features
Self-Retaining Weighted Design: Features a solid, polished sphere or cylindrical weight at the base of the handle, providing the perfect counter-balance to keep the nasal tissue retracted without manual intervention.
Atraumatic “Saddle” Blade: The working end features the signature Desmarres smooth, curved blade that cradles the nasal rim securely. The edges are meticulously rounded to prevent bruising or pressure marks on the skin.
Enhanced Visual Access: The slender, arched neck is engineered to stay out of the surgeon’s direct line of sight and provides ample room for the use of endoscopes or suction tips.
Stability & Balance: Every retractor is weight-calibrated to ensure it stays in place on the surgical drape, providing a “beast-like” grip that doesn’t shift during delicate maneuvers.
High-Grade Surgical Steel: Forged from premium stainless steel with an anti-glare finish, ensuring durability and clear visibility under intense surgical lighting.
