The Freer Elevator is a double-ended instrument that is synonymous with septoplasty and orthopedic microsurgery. It features two distinct blades: one sharp and one blunt. This combination allows the surgeon to perform a “start-to-finish” dissection—using the sharp end to initiate the elevation of the periosteum from the bone and the blunt end to sweep away the remaining attachments safely, reducing the risk of tearing delicate tissue flaps.
